Results of the MAK 2016

The organizing committee of the World Automotive Components Awards presented awards to the 2016 winners at a gala dinner in Moscow.

The international award "World Automotive Components", established by the publishing house "Max Media", celebrates its fifth anniversary this year. To celebrate this event in the banquet hall of the building of the Central Moscow Hippodrome gathered representatives of companies seeking awards, the largest players of the market of automotive components, analysts and experts of the car market, as well as the leading industry media.

Traditionally, the winners of the World Automotive Components Award are chosen by Internet users, the readership of Avtokomponenty magazine (a part of Max Media publishing house) and other thematic publications, and also by the expert council. This year was no exception. Voting for the "World Automotive Components" award nominees started on the project website in March 2016. During this time, more than 30 thousand users voted on the award nominations. The organizers also did a lot of work to collect votes at the largest professional exhibitions. At such events, drawings of gifts, including valuable prizes, were organized for all participants of the voting. Such work helped to raise interest in the project and attract many new participants to the voting.

The choice was also made by representatives of the expert council of the World Automotive Components Awards - experts of the automotive components market, analysts, representatives of research institutes and training organizations, as well as representatives of industry-specific media. The winner in each category was chosen based on several criteria.

This year, contenders were presented in 15 categories. In addition, the organizing committee of the award presented three special awards. The winners of the 2016 World Automotive Components Awards were:

• "Auto Bulbs" - OSRAM.
• "Batteries" - Bosch.
• "Shock absorbers" - KYB (experts' choice), Monroe (users' choice).
• "High Voltage Wires" - SLON.
• "Engine parts" - Kolbenschmidt (users' choice), MAHLE (experts' choice).
• "Drive belts" - Gates (user's choice), Contitech (expert's choice).
• "Bearings" - SKF.
• "Radiators" - Behr Hella Service (users' choice), Nissens (experts' choice).
• "Spark plugs" - DENSO.
• "Clutches" - LUK (users' choice), Valeo (experts' choice).
• "Brake pads" -ATE.
• "Brake discs - Brembo.
• "Filters" - MAHLE (users' choice), MANN-Filter (experts' choice), Livni (among domestic brands, experts' choice).
• "Wiper blades of the year" - DENSO.
• The best brand in the segment "Autochemicals" - LIQUI MOLY (users' choice), CoolStream (experts' choice).

The organizing committee also presented special awards. In the category "Affordable price and high quality" was awarded the company alca for its line of compressors, as well as the brand "GO" for a range of high-voltage wires. Ferdinand Bilstein received the award for "Best Workshop Project of the Year". Webasto company received the award "For contribution to the development of the automobile component market in Russia".
